Ingredients
- 1lb maple-flavored ground sausage
- 1 Large onion (chopped)
- 2 1/2 teaspoons garlic (minced)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 cup apple juice (or cider)
- 12 slices bread
- 6 Large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 2 teaspoons dry mustard
- 2 teaspoons hot pepper sauce
- 3 cups sharp cheddar cheese (shredded)
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease 9"x13" baking pan. | |
Cook and crumble sausage in a skillet over medium-hight heat. Drain. | |
Add chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and apple juice to sausage in skillet. Stir and cook over medium-high heat until the apple juice completely evaporates. | |
While apple juice simmers away, cut bread into cubes. Spread over bottom of 9"x13" pan. | |
Whisk eggs. Add milk, mustard, and hot sauce. Whisk together until well blended. | |
Spoon sausage mixture evenly over bread. | |
Pour egg mixture over bread and sausage. | |
Place all cheese on top. | |
Bake for 35-40 minutes. |
